First blog post of 2014 - Happy New Year!!

It's a bit late I know but there has been a lot happening behind the scenes at Portraits by Sarah.  Firstly and most importantly the last of the pre - Christmas sessions have been edited and their galleries are now live for viewing by the relevant Clients.

What else?  Well there has been a studio re-shuffle and de-clutter, the studio lighting has been upgraded and I must say the new lights are the bees knees!  I have also signed up for a few training courses to help me get the best out of my new lights and improve my lighting and portraiture in general.

So, what next?  Practise, Practise, Practise!  I am going to be doing some portfolio sessions so that I can practise what I have learnt.  The aim of the portfolio session is not to fill a Client gallery but to spend more time fine tuning lighting & poses and experimenting to, hopefully, come up with 4 or 5 images that I am really happy with.  The images will be used for marketing and on social media/website but personal details are never disclosed.  The model or model's parents/guardian are asked to sign a permission form before the session confirming agreement to this.

What's in it for you?  Firstly a FREE session, secondly, hopefully, some really nice images and finally a FREE 12x8" mounted print of your favourite image from the session.

The first round of Portfolio Sessions are for Newborns.  (Of course!!)  In addition to the FREE 12x8" mounted print you will receive a low resolution digital image to use on Social Media or in Thank You or Birth Announcement Cards.  If you, or someone you know, are expecting a baby which is due in January, February or March 2014 and you think you may be interested in a portfolio session, please contact me here http://www.portraitsbysarah.co.uk/contact.html.  The baby must be between 5 & 10 days old at the date of the session.

This image of a gorgeous Newborn Baby Girl was taken during one of last year's portfolio sessions.
